Truth Aquatics is excited to be kicking off a new season of Summer Island Adventures in 2012, and we want you to come along for the fun! From April to September, we will be running weekly 1-day Island Adventure trips to the famous Painted Cave area of Santa Cruz Island for Kayaking, Snorkeling, SCUBA Diving, and more. These are a perfect venue to get you and your family in the water at the Santa Barbara Channel Islands!
What is an Island Adventure?
Island Adventure trips are single day trips primarily focused on snorkeling and kayaking. You are able to rent kayaks or snorkeling gear from the SEA Landing Dive Center before departure or book a guided Kayaking experience thought one of our recommended guide services. However, interested guests are welcome to SCUBA dive, use standup paddle-boards, fish, swim, or just lay around on our sundeck! Check out this video to see what it is like!
What is the usual itinerary?
Island Adventures depart from the SEA Landing docks at 8am. A continental breakfast is served during the crossing to Santa Cruz Island, and brief stops will be made to observe any whales, dolphins, and other interesting marine life that we encounter. We usually make it to Painted Cave by 10am, and after a short tour we anchor up a short distance to the East at Quail Rock.
After anchoring, we will begin the fun! We will unload kayaks and paddleboards, outfit snorkelers with wetsuits, and fill up tanks for the divers. We also offer the opportunity to take a skiff tour into Painted Cave for a closer look. A barbecued lunch will be served at about 1pm, and we generally depart the island by 2:30pm in order to get us back to the SEA Landing dock by 5pm.
